Haven Connects with Project Homeless Connect

Each year, Haven Humane Society attends Project Homeless Connect at the Civic Center.  In 2014, our veterinarian and RVTs performed 230 pet exams, and 62 free spay/neuter surgeries the next day at our Day of Hope.  Day of Hope was sponsored by Steve & Stacey Lowery of 02 Motorsports and Catherine Cunningham.  We gave away 260 bags of pet food and held 156 dogs and 9 cats in our mobile adoption unit while their owners sought services inside the building.  Haven Humane Society has taken part in this event for the past 5 years and is pleased to offer these services to pet owners who would not otherwise seek them.

This is a follow up class to volunteer orientation.  All potential volunteers are required to attend this class to learn about animal behavior and body language.  The $20 fee for adults and $10 for children (ages 10-17) pays for a volunteer t-shirt, clicker, lanyard and name badge to get you started working with the animals.

Dog A Thon & Boot Scootin' Doggies BBQ

Bring Mutts and your Mothers for a fun pre-Mother's Day afternoon of carnival games, raffles, arts and crafts vendors and demonstrations.  Enter your fabulously talented dog in the WestMuttster dog show compete for some great prizes.   Click here for a registration form for an individual dog walker or click here for a team registration form.  We will have a microchipping booth where microchips will be a discounted $18.

The Boot Scootin' Doggies Barbecue and concert starts immediately after the Dog A Thon.  Enjoy live country music featuring Chad Bushnell and a great barbecue dinner.  Dogs are welcome.  Beer and wine will be on sale and we'll have a 50/50 drawing and a chance to win some raffle baskets.
