Haven Connects with Project Homeless Connect

Each year, Haven Humane Society attends Project Homeless Connect at the Civic Center.  In 2014, our veterinarian and RVTs performed 230 pet exams, and 62 free spay/neuter surgeries the next day at our Day of Hope.  Day of Hope was sponsored by Steve & Stacey Lowery of 02 Motorsports and Catherine Cunningham.  We gave away 260 bags of pet food and held 156 dogs and 9 cats in our mobile adoption unit while their owners sought services inside the building.  Haven Humane Society has taken part in this event for the past 5 years and is pleased to offer these services to pet owners who would not otherwise seek them.

Love Your Pet Expo

Join us at Hawes Farm and Ranch on Deschutes Road for the Love Your Pet Expo and Super Adoption Event!  Joining Haven Humane Society will be several local rescue groups and their adoptable animals.   Bring your dogs to meet our adoptable pets and shop for pet goodies and services.  Have lunch with your pet at the outdoor dining area while you enjoy a live band.  Fun stuff for the kids.  Free admission.

Basic Manners with Marty

Marty Strausbaugh, KPA CTP, will be training you to train your dog in this 5 week class.  The class will meet on Mondays in Haven Humane's classroom.  All dogs must have proof of current vaccination and rabies.  Register at Haven Humane Society, 7449 Eastside Road in south Redding.  The class fee is $89.  Marty can be reached at (530) 945-DOGS (3647) for more information.

Dog A Thon & Boot Scootin' Doggies BBQ

Bring Mutts and your Mothers for a fun pre-Mother's Day afternoon of raffles, arts and crafts vendors and animal skill demonstrations.  Enter your fabulously talented dog in the WestMuttster dog show to compete for some great prizes.   We will have a microchipping booth where microchips will be a discounted $20.  Rabies vaccinations and dog licenses will also be available.

The Boot Scootin' Doggies Barbecue and concert starts immediately after the Dog A Thon.  Enjoy live country music featuring Chad Bushnell and a great barbecue dinner.  Dogs are welcome.  Beer and wine will be on sale and we'll have a 50/50 drawing and a chance to win some raffle baskets.  Purchase tickets in advance for $25 by going to www.havenhumane.org.  Tickets after April 15 are $30.

This is a follow up class to Volunteer Orientation.  All potential volunteers are required to attend this class to learn about animal behavior and body language.  The $20 fee for adults and $10 for children pays for a volunteer t-shirts, lanyard, name badge and clicker to get you started working with the animals.

Doggie Dash 5K Fundraising Run

Join us at Clover Creek Park Preserve for the 5k Doggie Dash fun run.  Bring your dog and have a fun time on the trail.  Entry fee is $25 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 16 years old.  Register by going to http://www.havenhumane.org where you can also purchase tickets for the Boot Scootin' Doggies Concert & BBQ featuring country artist Chad Bushnell.  The concert and barbecue take place the afternoon of the Doggie Dash.

When you register for the Doggie Dash you will receive a confirmation email with a link to a website where you can create your own fundraising page.  Set a goal and ask your friends to help you raise money for homeless animals.

THIS CAMP IS FULL.  Children ages 10-15 learn to train, groom, and treat companion animals humanely. Camp includes several field trips and demonstrations by dog groups. Cost is $300.  There will be a 2 hour orientation for parents and children on Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m.    A graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 9:00 a.m.
