Help Mai Tai Live without Pain

Mai Tai was roaming the street when she was picked up by an Animal Regulation Officer.  He noticed Mai Tai was not using her back left leg, so he took her to Haven's Clinic for an examination.  X-rays revealed Mai Tai had an old break in her bone and it was causing her a lot of pain.  The Veterinarian recommends amputating the leg so Mai Tai can walk without pain.  Haven Humane Society needs donations to pay for Mai Tai's surgery.  If you would like to donate, mail your donation to the Misty Lee Fund, Haven Humane Society, PO Box 992202, Redding CA 96099-2202.  Misty Lee Funds go toward emergency medical care for stray animals.  Mai Tai will be available for adoption once she recovers from surgery.

Help end pet overpopulation in our community !

Our Shasta Animal Welfare Low Cost Spay/Neuter program has been so well-received, the fund is depleted and we have a waiting list of pet owners who would like to help end pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering their pets.   You can help by making a donation to the SAWF fund so we can continue reducing the number of unwanted cats and dogs in Shasta County.  The SAWF funds are used for pet owners who don't qualify for the PetSmart Charities Foundation funds below.

BEAT THE HEAT

Don't spend another summer trying to give away litters of kittens.  Thanks to PetSmart Charities Foundation, Haven Humane Society has an opportunity to spay or neuter your cat for $20 or less.  If you live in the city limits of Redding in the 96001 or 96002 zip codes, we will neuter your male cat for just $10 or spay your female cat for just $20.    Call our clinic at 241-1658 for an appointment.

It's Official!  Kitten season has started.

The first momma cat with a litter of newborns was brought to the shelter on March 1.  We will need many foster families from now through October to take care of kittens until they are big enough to be adopted.  The foster commitment ranges from a few weeks to 3 months and could be just kittens or kittens with a mom.  If you would like to be a foster parent, please call 241-1653.

For 60 years we have served the greater Redding area with animal protection programs and support services designed to ensure that all animals receive the love, care and respect they deserve. Whether you are looking to adopt a pet, train your dog, or seeking a volunteer opportunity working with animals, we invite you to explore our site and find out for yourself how our furry friends can enrich your life!
